 Unisex "V" and round neck 

Here's my favorite pattern (knitting)

thank you, johanna bypss3x2@aol.com note: dear shirley, I just knitted a size 34, and I used red heart super yarn (8 ounces each) i use two full skeins and about 2-3 ounces more.

Knitting worsted yarn

Needles: #5 for border: #8 for body; gauge: 5 sts and 7 rows = 1 inch.

Sizes: 34, (36, 3,8 40, 42, 44) ,

Back:

Cast on 88, (92, 98, 104, 108, 112). sts. Work k. 1, p 1 rib for 2". work stock. st. or pattern until entire back measures 14, (14, 14-½, 14-½, 15, 16) inchesor desired length to underarm. bind off 2 sts. each side, 1 time. 84 (88, 94, 100, 104, 108).

Note: for knitters who work into front of stitch k. st. work raglan as follows:

Row 1: k. 3, slip1, k. 1 pso, work pattern to last 5 sts., k. 2 tog., k.3.

Row 2: p3, p2 tog, work pattern to last 4 sts., p4.

for knitters who work into back of stitch for k. st. work raglan as follows:

Row 1: k.3, p2 tog, work pattern to last 4 sts., k. 4.

Row 2: p 3, p 2 tog, work pattern to last 4 sts., p4. .

Both .. Repeat these 2 rows until 28 (28 30 30 32 32) sts remain. Place remaining sts. on holder for back of neck.

Front v- neck: work same as back until armhole measures ½ inche. Divide work in half.. Dec. 1 st. 13 (13, 14, 14, 1,5 15) time at neck edge every 4th Row and at same time continue to dec. for raglan armhole until no sts. remain and armhole measures same as back. Work other half of front to correspond.

Front: round neck: work same as back until armhole measures 2, (2, 2 ¼ , 2 ¼, 2 ½, 2-½) inches less than back armhole. place 34, (36, 38, 40, 42, 44) center on a holder.

At neck edge, dec. 1 st., and at same time continue to shap raglan until no sts. remain, and armhole is same as back. Work other half of front to correspnd.

Sleeves

cast on 42, (42, 44, 44, 46 , 46) sts. k.1, p1 rib for 2". on next Row inc.4 sts. 46, (46, 48, 48, 50, 50) sts. Iinc. 1 st. each side every ¾", to 68, (70, 72, 74, 76 , 78) sts.

Work until sleeve measures 16, (16, 17, 17 ½, 17 ½, 18) inches or desired length to underarm.bind off 2 sts. each side 1 time.

Dec. 1 st. for raglan every 4th Row for 0, (1, 2, 3, 4, 4) times then every 2nd Row until 8 sts. remain, and armhole measures same as back. hold sts. sew sweater together leaving front seam of left sleeve open.

v-neck neckband: with #5 needles and right side facing you, on left side of v pick up 42, (45, 47, 49, 51, 53) sts. at point of v, pace maker on needle. on right side pick up 42, (45, 47, 49, 51, 53) sts.

K. across sts of sleeve, back, and other sleeve. Work k. 1, p1 rib. on wrong side always purl the st. before and after marker. (always slipmarker from one needle to another). Oon right side, k.2 tog. before and after marker. work 1". bind off in ribbing.

If double neckband is desired, purl 1 Row on right sid for fold line, continue in k. 1, p1 rib, and inc. every 2nd Row before and after marker for 1". bind off in ribbing. fold under and sew.

Round neck neckband: with #5 needles, pick up including sts. from holders 86 (88 92 96 100 104) sts.

work k.1, p1 rib for 1". bind off loosely in ribbing.
