Learn to exchange this knit pattern to crochet

 Two of my FAVORITE knitting patterns

Baby Booties

#2 Needles 1 oz. Baby yarn

Cast on 40 Sts.

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Knit

Row 3: K1, inc, K16, inc. K2, inc, K16, inc, K1.

Row 4: And all even rows KNIT.

Row 5: K1, inc, k17, inc, k4, inc, k 17, inc, K1.

Row 7: K1, inc, k18, inc, k6, inc, k18, inc, k1.

Row 9: K21, inc, k8, inc, k21

Row 11: K21, inc, k10, inc, k21.

Row 13: K21, inc, K12, inc, k21.

Rows 14 & 15 KNIT

Row 16, Knit 34, K2 tog, turn * K11, k2 tog, turn, Repeat from * Till 40 sts in all remain, turn K26 sts, 

Knit 1 Row.

K2, P2 for 6 rows. 

Make Row of holes by K2, YO, K2tog. Across Row.

 Then K2, P2 for 6 more rows. Then Knit 12 rows (Garter St), this will make 6 ridges.

Cast off. Turn inside out and sew seam. Then crochet a chain to weave through the holes long enough so that it can be tied. ( I usually crochet mine about 105 sts. long).

 

Jiffy Baby Sweater

One 4 oz. Skein of Worsted Weight Yarn

1 Pr. #10 ½ straight knitting needles

Markers and stitch holders

Starting at neck edge, cast on 34 sts. (always knit the first and last 3 stitches for borders. All increases are made between borders.)

Rows 1 & 2: Knit

Row 3: (beading Row) K3, *P2 tog. Y.O. repeat from* across Row, ending P2tog, K3 (33 sts.)

Row 4: Knit

Row 5: K3, P across Row to last 3 sts. K3.

Row 6: K3, *K in front and back of next stitch (increase), K1, repeat from * across Ending with increase 1 st. K 3. (47 sts.)

Row 7: K3, P across to last 3 sts, K3.

Row 8: K3, *K2 tog, repeat from * across to last 4 sts. K4. (27 sts.)

Row 9: K3, *K1, insert needle under next horizontal loop of Row below (between sts) And knit this st. repeat from * across, ending K4. (47 sts.)

Row 10: K3, *inc. st in next st. K2, repeat from * across ending inc. 1 st. K4. (61 sts.)

Row 11: K3, P across Row to last 3 sts, k 3.

Row 12: K3, *K2 tog., repeat from * across to last 4 sts. K4, (34 sts.)

Row 13: K3, *K1, insert needle under next horizontal loop of Row below (between sts) And knit this st. repeat from * across ending inc.1, K4. (61 sts.)

Row 14: K4, *inc. in next st. K3, repeat from * across ending inc. 1, K4. (75 sts)

Row 15: K3, P across Row to last 3 sts, K3.

Row 16: K3, *K2 tog., repeat from * across to last 4 sts. K4, (41 sts)

Row 17: K3, *K1, insert needle under next horizontal loop of Row below (between sts) And knit this st. repeat from * across ending K4, (75 sts)

Row 18: K4, *inc. in next st. K4, repeat from * across ending inc. 1 st. K5. (89 sts)

Row 19: K3, P across Row to last 3 sts, K3.

Row 20: K3, * K2 tog., repeat from * across Row to last 4 sts. K 4. (48 sts).

Row21: K3, *K1, insert needle under next horizontal loop of Row below (between sts) And knit this st. repeat from * across ending K4. (89 sts).

Row 22: K5, *inc. 1 st in next st., K5, repeat from * across (103 sts).

Row 23: K3, P across Row to last 3 sts, K3.

Row 24: K3, *K2 tog. repeat from * across to last 4 sts. K4. (55 sts).

Row 25: K3, *K1, insert needle under the next horizontal loop of Row Below (between sts) and knit this st. repeat from * across, ending K4. (103 sts).

Row 26: K18, (front) inc. 1 st. in next st., place marker on needle inc. 1 st in next st. K14, (sleeve) increase 1 st. in next st. place a marker on needle, inc. 1 st in next st., K31 (back) inc. 1 st in next st. place marker on needle, inc. 1 st. in next st. K14, inc. 1 st. in next st. place marker on needle, inc. 1 st. in next st. K18 sts. (111 sts.).

Row 27: K3, p across to last 3 sts. K3.

Row 28: K, increasing 1 st. each side of markers (119 sts.).

Row 29: & 30 Repeat last 2 rows once more (127 sts.).

Row 31: K3, p across Row to last 3 sts. K3.

Row 32: K 22 sts., place on stitch holder, K 22 sleeve sts, leave on needle put remaining stitches on st. holder. 

Sleeve: Work in stockinette st. for 4 inches end on wrong side of work. Work in Ribbing of K1, P1 for 1 ½ inches decreasing 5 sts. On first Row of ribbing.

Bind off. Work other sleeve in same manner.

Attach yarn at under arm on the right side of work and knit across back and right front, turn and work in stockinette stitch. For 4 ½ inches (always knit the first and last 3 sts). Ending on the wrong side.

Next rows, work rows 8 and 9 of pattern st. Work 4 more rows in stockinette st. Then work eyelet Row for turn of hem as follows: K3, *K2 tog. YO, repeat from * across Row ending with YO, K4. Work 4 rows of stockinette stitch and bind off.

 Turn up hem and sew in place. Sew sleeve seams. Crochet a chain about 30 inches long and draw through the beading at neck.
