Exchanging knit to crochet

  Preemie Cap (Easy)

    Size; 4 ½ 'across

 Stitches Used; Chain, single crochet, slip stitch

 Gauge; 5 sc sts = 1', 6 sc rows = 1inch

 Materials; Baby yarn, 2 ozs, 12 ' of  ¼"  picot ribbon, E crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

 Note; Work in back lps throughout.

Row 1; Ch 35, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Turn (34 sc)

 Row 2; Ch 1,  sc in each st across leaving last 3 sts un-worked, turn (33 sts)

 Row 3; Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

 Row 4;  Repeat Row 2. (28 sts)

 Row 5; Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

 Row 6; Ch 1, sc in each st across, (sc; end of Row below and next un-worked st together, sc   in each of next 2 un-worked sts) 2 times, turn (34 sts).

 Row 7' Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

 Rows 8 - 54; Repeat rows 2 - 7 continuously. Ending with Row 6. At end of last Row, fasten off leaving 18 "for weaving and sewing.

 Weave 18' end through ends of rows. Pull to gather top of cap; sew last and first rows together. Secure end.

 Turn up bottom edge of cap for cuff as shone in photo. Tie ribbon into a bow around and st on cuff.
