1 skein 2-ply fingering yarn or Lion Brand Jaime, Bernat Baby Softee ( use #2 needles)
Knitting needles size 2 or 3
Tapestry needle

Cast on 25 stitches

Row 1: K1, P1 across, ending with K1.

Row 2: P1, K1 across, ending with P1.

Rows 3-16: Repeat Rows 1 and 2, ending with Row 2 (wrong side)

Row 17: Knit

Row 18: Purl Form Heel: Working on first 8 stitches ...

Row 1: Knit 8 stitches, turn.

Row 2: Purl 8 stitches, turn.

Rows 3-8: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.

Row 9: K1 st, K2 tog, K1, turn.

Row 10: Purl (3 sts).

Row 11: K2 sts, K2 tog, K1, turn .

Row 12: Purl (4 sts).

Row 13: K3 sts, K2 tog, K1, turn.

Row 14: Purl (5 sts)

Row 15: K3 sts, K2 together, pick up 4 sts on inside edge of heel, knit all remaining sts (25 sts).

Follow same procedure on 8 sts for left side of heel, as follows..

Row 1: Purl 8, turn.

Row 2: Knit 8, turn.

Rows 3-8: Repeat rows 1 and 2.

Row 9: P1 st, p2 tog, p1, turn.

Row 10: Knit.

Row 11: P2 sts, P2 tog, P1, turn.

Row 12: Knit.

Row 13: P3 sts, P2 tog, P1, turn.

Row 14: Knit.

Row 15: P3 sts, P3 tog, pick up 4 sts on inside of heel, Purl all remaining sts (25 sts) .

Row 16: K7, K2 tog, K7, K2 tog, K7 (23 sts).

Row 17: Purl.

Row 18: K6, K2 tog, K7, K2 tog, K6 (21 sts).

Row 19: Purl.

Rows 20-27: Knit one row, purl one row (stockinette st).

Toe: Row 28: K1, K2 tog, K7, K2 tog, K6, K2 tog, K1 (18 sts).

Row 29: Purl.

Row 30: K1, K2 tog, K5, K2 tog, K5, K2 tog, K1 (15 sts).

Row 31: Purl.

Row 32: K1, K2 tog, K2, K2 tog, K1, K2 tog, K2, K2 tog, K1 (11 sts)

Cut yarn, leaving a 12 inch length, thread tapestry needle.

Draw yarn through remaining 11 stitches, pull tight and knot, sew seam. 

Weave in ends.
