 Knit Lace       Exchange to crochet 

         

Here is another lovely knit edge to add a touch of luxury to your linens.

You will need a ball of size 20 crochet cotton, a pair of standard knitting needles size 3 and one size 1 double-pointed needle.

Abbreviations:

k (knit) , sl (slip), p (Purl) , psso (pass slipped stitch over), 0 (yarn over), tog (together) st (stitch). 

Cast on 10 sts.

Row 1: Knit each st across.

Row 2: K 2, 0 (an inc), k 2 tog (a dec), eyelet (to make an eyelet: sl 1, k 1, psso (a dec), 0 twice, k 2 tog), k 1, inc in last st (to make inc: k into front of st then k into back of same St).

Row 3: K each st except p the second st of the 0 twice.

Row 4: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 1, eyelet, k 1, inc.

Row 5: Repeat Row 3.

Row 6: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 2, eyelet, k 11, inc.

Row 7: Repeat Row 3.

Row 8: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 3, eyelet, k 1, inc.

Row 9: Repeat Row 3.

Row 10: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 4, eyelet, k 1, inc.

Row 11: Repeat Row 3.

Row 12: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 5, eyelet,k1, inc.

Row 13: Repeat Row 3.

Row 14: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 1, k 3 sts, sl these 3 sts onto a double-pointed needle the same size as those being used, wind thread around these 3 sts 10 times, now sl these 3 sts back to right hand needle, k 2, eyelet, k 2.

Row 15: K 1, k 2 tog, k 1, p 1, k 11.

Row 16: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 5, eyelet,k2.'

Row 17: K 1, k 2 tog, k 1, p 1, k 10.

Row 18: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 4, eyelet, k 2.

Row 19: K 1, k 2 tog, k 1, p 1, k 9.

Row 20: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 3, eyelet, k 2.

Row 21: K 1, k 2 tog, k 1, p 1, k 8.

Row 22: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 2, eyelet, k 2.

Row 23: K 1, k 2 tog, k 1, p 1, k 7.

Row 24: K 2, 0, k 2 tog, k 1, eyelet, k 2.

Row 25: K 1, k 2 tog, k 1, p 1, k 6.

Repeat rows 2 through 25 for length desired. Bind off.
