Exchanging knit to crochet

Exchange knitting to crochet or crochet to knitting.

Kitcheners Stitch  

Stockinette Stitch

Cut yarn about 3 times the lengthen your weaving.

Holding your needles together, purl sides facing each other, tips going in the same directions.

Weave sts together as follows: with knitting needle,

** go through first st on front needle as if purling, pull end of yarn all the way through st (always pull end of yarn all the way through every st, but not tight), and take st off needle.

Go through next st of front needle as if knitting, and leave this st on the needle.

Go through first st on back needle as if knitting, and take this st off needle.

As if to purl, take your yarn through the next st on front needle and leave this st on the needle, as if to P the next st on back needle and leave this st on **.

Repeat between ** until all the sts are woven together.

GARTER ST KITCHENER ST

Cut yarn leaving a 36" end. Thread into tapestry needle.

Holding needles parallel, with sts divided evenly on 2 needles or points of circular needle, insert needle as if to purl in first st on front needle, leave st on needle, insert needle as if to purl in first st on back needle, leave st on needle.

* Insert needle as if to knit on first st on front needle, sl st from needle, insert needle as if to purl in next st on front needle, leave st on needle, * repeat this direction on back needle.

Work all sts in this manner. Weave in yarn end.
