Here is a VERY easy pattern.

Size 7 circular knitting needles

Worsted-weight yarn (approx. 3 skeins of 3.5 oz. each)

If you knit loosely, select a size smaller needle

 

Cast on 4 stitches

K2, wool forward, knit to end of Row.

Continue this Row until desired width. (you will have an extra stitch every Row)

Cast off loosely (this can be achieved by using a straight knitting needle 2 sizes larger than the circular one)

 

For an added embellishment, weave a coordinating ribbon through the holes created on each side.
