Coat Hanger Covers in knit and crochet

        Knitted Hanger Cover

(fits regular size hanger)

Materials:  1 Plastic Coat Hanger

35 yards Worsted Weight Yarn

1 Pair US #7 Needles

Directions:  Cast on 6 stitches

Row 1:  *K 2, P1 *Repeat Across Row

Row 2:  K the k sts., P the P sts. (rib stitch)

Row 3:  P1, *K2, P1 *Repeat across End K2

Row 4:  Repeat Row 2.

Row 5:  K1, P1, K2, P1, K1.

Row 6:  Repeat Row 2.

Repeat these 6 rows until about 35 inches long or to fit around length of hanger.  Bind off.  Sew lengthwise strip around sides and bottom of hanger.

1 Plastic Coat Hanger

35 Yards Worsted Weight Yarn

Size G Crochet Hook

 

Directions:  Chain 7. (HDC = Half Double Crochet)

Row 1:  HDC in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain.  Chain 1 to Turn.

Row 2:  HDC in "back loop" of stitch across.  Chain 1 to Turn.

Repeat Row 2 for pattern until 35 inches long.  Fasten off.  Sew lengthwise around sides and bottom of hanger.   

Optional Tie:  Make chain about 13 inches long and tie around "neck" of hanger.
