Beautiful Baby  Blanket

Thank you. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS YOU CAN E MAIL ME AT   MMSC730@AOL.COM

Oh Thank you for letting me share a favorite of mine.  I am going to do my best to guide anyone to making a color you could use this for a blanket for anyone. You can make it as large or small as you wish

You have to have a CROW HOOK.  This is a  long needle with a hook on each end. The larger the needle the larger your work will turn out.
I have had mine for a long time   Wish I could find a larger one than I have.  Mine is about 12 inches long  or more, and about  as large around as a #2 lead pencil.
The needle must be long so there is room to hold the loops.

You can use  any size  yarn you wish,  However the very small baby yarn   is not quiet as good as a larger size.
Right now  I am making a blanket and using  6 oz sports weight yarn.  Oh yes  you use 2 ball of yarn as you go.

One color on one side and the other color on other end.

I don't have a pattern in front of me so I am having to think  as I type.
I MAKE THESE BABY BLANKETS LARGE SO A CHILD CAN USE THEM FOR YEARS TO COME.

1.  GET ENOUGH YARN AT ONE TIME SO YOUR COLORS WILL BE THE SAME

2,  I BUY  LET SAY, 4 OF WHITE AND 4 OF PINK

3.  WITH ONE OF THE COLORS, MAKE A LOOP AND CROCHET A CHAIN  AS LONG AS YOU WANT THE BLANKET TO BE. {REMEMBER YOU WILL NEED TO PUT AN EDGE AROUND WHEN YOU FINISH TO MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY.]
{ FOR THIS BLANKET i AM MAKING  NOW  I CROCHETED A CHAIN ABOUT  3 FEET LONG}

4.  NOW YOU HAVE A CHAIN.  HOLD THE CHAIN IN YOUR LEFT HAND.  NOW GO THROUGH EACH CHAIN AND PULL  UP A LOOP ONTO THE  NEEDLE.
WHEN YOU GET TO THE END YOU WILL HAVE  THAT LONG CRO=-HOOK FULL OF THE LOOPS YOU PULLED UP.

NOW SLOWLY TURN THIS LONG NEEDLE AROUND IN YOUR RIGHT HAND

TIE THE OTHER COLOR THREAD ONTO THE LOOP CLOSEST TO YOUR HOOK

NOW YOU ARE GOING TO WORK OFF THE LOOPS OF WHITE, WITH THE OTHER COLOR YOU HAVE.

WORK OFF ALL THE LOOPS TO THE END, THEN TURN THE CROCHET AROUND AND PULL UP LOOPS THROUGH EACH CHAIN UNTIL YOU GET BACK TO THE  END.

NOW PICK U P  YOUR WHITE AGAIN AND WORK OFF ALL THE COLOR LOOPS UNTIL YOU GET TO THE END, GO BACK AND GO THROUGH EACH LOOP  UNTIL YOU HAVE A NEEDLE FULL OF WHITE LOOPS, PICK UP Y OUR COLOR AGAIN.

YOU REPEAT THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE THE BLANKET AS LARGE AS YOU WANT IT. THEN OF COURSE YOU TIE OFF THE TREAD. I DO NOT HAVE AN EDGING PATTERN  I JUST MAKE IT UP AS I GO.

WHEN YOU FINISH, THE BLANKET LOOKS WHITE ON ONE SIDE AND THE OTHER COLOR YOU USE ON THE OTHER SIDE.

IT WILL HAVE RIDGES.
