12" Soft Cabbage Doll Dress Pattern and Floppy Hat   

Patterns

1.   Green Yoked Dress with Hat

Materials:

4 ply worsted weight cotton yarn (approximately. 2-4 oz.). Model was made with a MAIN COLOR plus a CONTRASTING COLOR for the trims.

I hook

Special stitches: Beginning Vst = chain 4 (first dc plus 1 chain) 1dc in same sp.

Vst = 1dc, chain 1, 1dc in same sp.

Row 1:    With contrasting color, chain 25. Work 1 hdc in 3rd chain from hook and in each st across. Turn. (24)

Row 2:    Chain 3, work 2 dc in each st across. Fasten off contrasting color. (48)

Row 3:    Join main color with a sl st. Chain 3. Work 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts. * Work 2 dc in the next st. Work 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts. * Repeat across.

Row 4:    Chain 2. Work 1 hdc in each st across. (60)

Row 5:    Chain 4. Work beginning V st in same space. Skip 1 st, work V st in next st, repeat x 5. Skip 10sts. Work 1 Vst in next st, skip 1 st x 9. Skip 10 sts.

Work 1 Vst in next st, skip 1 st. Repeat x 4. Join to top of first Vst.

Round 6 through 11:    Work Beginning V st in first v st and work 1 Vst in each V st around. Join. Continue in established pattern through round 11. Fasten off

main color.

Round 12:    With contrasting color, chain 2, work 2 hdc in the middle of each V st and 1 hdc in space between each V st around.

Sleeve trim:    

Round 1:    With contrasting color, work 1 hdc in each st around and into ends of the sts in the Row below.

Round 2:    Chain 2, work 1 hdc in every other st around. Fasten off.

Neck Edge:  

With 2 strands of contrasting color yarn and a yarn needle, work a running st around neck edge, leaving a long tail on each end. Pull gently to gather and tie around neck.

Floppy Hat

Round 1:    With contrasting color, chain 4, join to form a circle. Work 12 hdc in circle.

Round 2:    Chain 2. *Work 2 hdc in next st, work 1 hdc in next st.* Repeat around.

Round 3:    With main color, chain 4. Work 1 dc in same space (Beginning V st). Work V st in next st. *Skip 1 st. Work 1 V st in each of next 2 sts.* Repeat around.( 12 Vsts).

Round 4:    Work beginning V st in first Vst. Work 1 V st in each of the next 3 V sts. *Work 1 V st in next between space. Work 1 V st in each of the next 4 V sts.* Repeat around. (15 Vsts)

Round 5:    Work even. Fasten off main color.

Round 6:    With contrasting color, chain 2, work 2 hdc in the middle of each V st and 1 hdc in space between each V st around. Fasten off.
