There is an open knit and crochet group that meets every Wednesday night at Bookman's book store in Flagstaff, Arizona.  The group starts to gather between 5:30 pm-6:00 pm and breaks up around 8:00pm.  Everyone is welcome to drop in or stay.  Every skill level and age is represented.
