SIZES: Misses sizes small (medium-extra large). Garment measurement around underarms 40 (42-44-48)

MATERIALS: Lion Brand Jiffy (3 oz. balls)-6 (6-7-7) balls color No. 149 Silver(main color-MC), 4(4-5-5) balls color No. 178 Teal (contrast color-CC).

  Crochet hook size 1 (J-K-1), OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE. Yarn needle.

GAUGE-

Small Size: One square measures 5" across.

Medium Size: One square measures 5 ¼" across.

Large Size: One square measures 5½"across.

Extra Large Size: One square measures 6" across.

GRANNY SQUARES: Make fifty.

With I (J-K-I) hook and CC, ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1- Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 1, (3 dc in ring, ch 1) 3 times, join with sl st to top of starting ch-3.

Fasten off.

Rnd 2: Join MC in any ch-1 space, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in same ch-1 space - first corner made, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 space) 3 times, join with sl st to top of starting ch-3.

Rnd 3- Work 1 sl st in each of next 2 dc and next ch-1 space,* ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in same ch-1 space - first corner made, 3 dc in-between 2 3-dc groups on next side of square, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 space; repeat from * twice more, 3 dc between 2 3-dc groups on last side of square, join with sl st to top of starting ch-3.

For Small, Medium and large Sizes Only: Fasten off.

For Extra Large Size Only-

Rnd 4: Work 1 sl st in each of next 2 dc and next ch-1 space, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in same ch-1 corner space, * 3 dc in each space, between 2- 3-dc groups across next side of square to next ch-1 corner space, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 corner space; repeat from * twice more, end 3 dc ineach space between 2 3-dc groups on last side of square, join with sl st to top of starting ch-3. Fasten off.

Edging- For All Sizes: Join CC and work 2 rnds sc around square, working 3 sc in each corner and second rnd through back loops only.

HALF-SQUARES: Make six.

With I (J-K-I) hook and CC, ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring.

Row 1 (right side) Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc, ch 1), work (3 dc, ch 1) twice in ch-5 ring, ch 1, 1 dc in ring. Fasten off.

Row 2: With right side of work facing, join MC in first ch-1 space at beg of Row 1, ch 4 (counts as 1 dc, ch 1), 3 dc in same ch-1 space, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1, 1 dc in last dc. Ch 4, turn. Row 3: (Work 3 dc in next ch-1 space) twice, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 1, (3 dc in next ch-1 space) twice, ch 1, 1 dc in third ch of turning ch-4.

For Small, Medium and large Sizes Only: Fasten off.

For Extra Large Size Only: Ch 4, turn.

Rnd 4: (Work 3 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1) 3 times, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 space, (ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 space) 3 times, ch 1, 1 dc in third ch of turning ch-4. Fasten off.

Edging-For ALL Sizes: With I (J-K-I) hook and CC, work 2 rnds of sc around triangle shape as for Granny Squares, working 15 sc evenly spaced along side of triangle and 3 sc in each point.

COLLAR-FOR ALL SIZES: With I (J-K-I) hook and CC, ch 22.

Row 1: Starting in second ch from hook, work 1 sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Working through back loops only, work1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat How 2 until a total of 96 (96-96-100) rows have been worked. Fasten off.

 

Finsihing: Following diagrams for Back, Fronts and Sleeves, sew square and half-squares together.

Cuffs: With 1(J-K-1) hook, CC and right side of work facing, work 1 sc in each sc across one 3-square edge of sleeve piece. Ch 1, turn.

Now, work in rows of sc through back loops only as on collar until a total of 20 rows has been worked. Fasten off.

Work cuff on remaining sleeve piece in same manner.

Matching dots as shown on diagram, sew shoulders.

Position sleeves as shown and sew them in place.

Sew sleeve and side seams.

Sew collar in place along back of neck and down half-squares at each neck edge on fronts.

With CC and right side of work facing, work 1 Row sc along right front edge, bottom edge and left front edge, join with sl st and work1 Row reverse sc (work from left to right instead of right to left) along Row of sc just worked.

Ties: With double strands of CC yarn, join yarn in any point in dictated by * on diagram, ch 40. Fasten off, Work seven more ties, in same manner, at points indicated on diagram.
