Size #8 & #9 needles, baby yarn

 

Cast on 26 sts.  Knit in k1, p1 rib for 4 rows.

 

Change to #9 needles & do Stockinette Stitch for 12 rows.

 

BO 2 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows. (22 sts)

 

Dec 2 sts each side for next 4 rows (I k2 tog at beg of Row twice & at SSK twice at end of rows) ( 6 sts)

 

Work 4 rows even.

 

Inc 2 sts at each end of next 4 rows. (22 sts)

 

Cast on 2 sts at the beg of next 2 rows.  (26 sts)

 

Work even for 12 rows.

 

Change to #8 needles and K1, p1 rib for 4 rows.

 

Bind of 6 sts beginning of next 2 rows.  (10 sts)

Change to #9 needles and work even in St St for 6 rows.  BO.

With remaining loop on needle, using a crochet hook, ch 25.  cut yarn. 

Attach yarn at other side of bib and ch 25. 

 

Sew side seams.

 

I put a button in the shape of a flower on the bib, I also crocheted around the leg openings with a frilly stitch for a girl bear.
