One Sleeved Shawl
Convert this pattern to knit
Size: Shawl measures 38" wide, 72" long from edge of ribbed cuff to end of shawl, not including 7" fringe.
Materials: Sport weight - Lion Brand Wool-Ease (2.5 oz. balls)-- 10 balls color No. 302 Black Multi. Crochet Hook size H or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 4 sc = 1".
SHAWL
Cuff Ribbing: Ch 36.
Row 1: Hdc in second ch from hook, hdc in each ch across-35 hdc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Skip first bdc, working through back loops only. hdc in each hdc across. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until a total of 26 rows has been worked from beg. Do not fasten off, turn to work along side edge of ribbing.
Foundation Row (right side): * Ch 3, sl st in next Row; repeat from * across-25 loops. Ch 1, turn.
Row 1: sl st in first ch-3 loop, ch 2, dc in same loop,* (work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc--shell made--in next ch-3 loop) twice **, (dc, ch 5, dc) in next ch-3 loop- repeat from * across, ending last repeat
at **,work 2 dc in last ch-2 loop. Ch 2 (counts as dc), turn.
Row 2: (right side): Skip first dc, dc in next dc, * (shell in ch-2 space of next shell--shell in shell made) twice **, work 11 tr in next ch-5 loop,repeat from * across, end last repeat at **, dc
in each of last 2 dc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 3: Skip first dc, dc in next dc, (shell in shell) twice ch 3, skip next tr, work dc in each of next 9 tr, ch 3; repeat from across, end last repeat at dc in each of last 2 dc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 4: Skip first dc, dc in next dc, *(shell in shell) twice ch 4, skip next ch-3 loop and 1 dc, work dc in each of next 7 dc, ch 4; repeat from across, end last repeat at dc in each of last 2 dc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 5: Skip first dc, dc in next dc, * (shell in shell) twice ch 5, skip next ch-4 loop and 1 dc, work dc in each of next 5 dc, ch 5 repeat from across, end last repeat at dc in each of last 2 dc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 6: Skip first dc, dc in next dc, * (shell in shell) twice ** ch 6, skip next ch-5 loop and 1 dc, work dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 6; repeat from * across, end last repeat at,**, dc in each of last 2 dc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 7: Skip first dc, dc in next dc, * (shell in shell) twice ch 3, skip next ch-6 loop and 1 dc, work (dc, ch 5, dc) in next dc, ch 3; repeat from across, end last repeat at **, dc in each of last 2 dc. Ch 2 turn.
Repeat Rows 2 through 7 thirteen times more.
Next Row: Work as for Row 2.
Next Row (Last Long Row): Work as for Row 3. Ch 1 to turn at end of Row. Mark each end of this Row before you proceed.
Points at End of Shawl: (Worked back and forth across each pineapple section separately.)
First Point-Row 1: sl st in ch-2 space of first shell, ch 2, (work dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same shell-starting shell made, shell in next shell, ch 3, skip next ch-3 loop and next dc, dc in each of next 7 dc, ch 3, shell in next shell. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: sl st in ch-2 space of first shell, ch 2, work starting shell in same shelf, ch 3, skip next ch-3 loop and 1 dc, dc in each of next 5 dc, ch 3, shell in shell. Ch 1 , turn.
Row 3: sl st in ch-2 space of first shell, ch 2, work starting shell in same shell, ch 3,skip next ch-3 loop and 1 dc, dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 3, shell in shell. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: sl st in ch-2 space of first shell, ch 2, work starting shell in same shell, ch 3, skip next ch-3 loop and 1 dc, dc in next dc, ch 3,shell in shell. Ch 1, turn.
Row 5: sl st in ch-2 space of first shell, ch 2, work starting shell in same shell, skip both ch-3 loops, shell in shell. Ch 1, turn.
Row 6: sl st in ch-2 space of first shell, ch 2, work starting shell in same shell, sl st in ch-2 space of next shell.
Fasten off-first pineapple point completed.
Next Point--Row 1: With right side of work facing, join yarn in ch-2 space of next shell on last long Row, ch 2, work starting shell in same shell, now, work Rows 1 through 6 as for previous point starting Row 1 at ch 3. Work a point across each of next four pineapple sections in same manner. Work point of next (last) pineapple section, to correspond to first pineapple section, having 2 shells at outside edge of first 2 rows of point.
FINISHING
'Point Edging: With right side of work facing and working along outside edges of points, join yam in first dc of marked Row, ch 5, sl st in ch-2 space of next shell on next Row, ch 5, dc in ch-2 space of next shell on same Row. (ch 5, sl st in ch-2 space of next shell) 1 1 times, sl st into next ch-2 space of next shell on next point, (ch 5, sl st in ch-2 space of next shell) 12 times, sl st in next ch-2 space of next shell- repeat from along each Of next 4 points, end ( ch 5, sl st in ch-2 space of next shell) 10 times, ch 5, dc in ch-2 space of second shell from last on next Row, ch 5, sl st in ch-2 space of next shell, ch 5, sl st in top of last dc of marked Row. Fasten Off.
Fringe: Cut 14" strands of yam, 20 for each fringe group-140 strands total. Knot 20 strands, doubled, inch-2 space at end of each point,.
Trim fringe.
