Lace Afghan

Convert this pattern to knit

 The look of lace adds a touch of elegance to any room.  Achieve that look in your "boudoir" by accenting it with our lovely lace afghan in crochet.  Crochet your own "boudoir" afghan you will need 8 balls peach  Sport Yarn and a size F crochet hook or size required to obtain given gauge.  The finished afghan measures approximately 47 x 67 inches.
Gauge: Motif equals 5 inch square
Motif 1:

Rnd 1: Beginning at center, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook.  Join with Sl St to first sc, ch 4.

Rnd 2: Work 2 tr in same sc as joining retaining on hook the last lp of each st, yo and through all 3 lps on hook (first cluster made), ch 5, *in next sc work 3 tr retaining on hook the last lp of each St, yo and through all 4 lps on hook (2nd cluster made), ch 5. Repeat from * around, join with Sl St to tip of first cluster - 8 clusters.

Rnd 3: Sl St in next 2 ch of ch-5 SP, (sc, ch 3. sc) in same Sp, *ch 3, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next lp.  Repeat from * around, end ch 3, join with Sl St to first sc - 16 ch-3 lps.

Rnd 4: Sl St in first 2 ch of next ch-3 Sp, ch 4, *in next sp work dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc in next Sp, ch 1, (tr, ch 1, tr, ch 5, tr, ch 1, tr) in next sp (corner), ch 1, dc in next Sp, ch 1. Repeat from * around, end last repeat with corner, ch 1, join with Sl St to 3rd ch of starting ch - 4 corners.

Rnd 5: Sl St in next ch-1, next dc, and next ch-1, sc in same space as Sl St, *ch 5, sk next Sp, sc in next Sp, ch 5, sk next Sp, (sc, ch 7, sc) in ch-5 corner, (ch 5, sk next Sp, sc in next sp) 2 times.  Repeat from * around, join with Sl St to first sc.  Fasten off.

Motif 2: 

Rnds 1 through 4: Work same as Motif 1.

Rnd 5: (Joining Rnd) Sl St in next ch-1, next dc, and next ch-11 SC in same sp as Sl St, ch 5, sk next sp, SC in next sp, ch 5, sk next sp, in corner work SC, ch 3, Sl St in corresponding corner of Motif 1, ch 3, SC in corner of Motif 2 Joining corner worked), (ch 2, Sl St in corresponding sp of Motif 1, ch 2, sk next sp of Motif 2, SC in next sp of Motif 2) 3 times, ch 2, Sl St in corresponding sp of Motif 1, ch 2, SK next sp of Motif 2, work joining corner (one side joined), continue around motif same as on Rnd 5 of Motif 1. Repeat Motif 2, making a total of 117 motifs worked into a 9 x 13 motif rectangle, and working joining rnd on one or two sides as needed.

Border: Rnd 1: Right side facing, join yarn in ch-7 corner, **(SC, ch 3, SC) in corner, *(ch 3, SC in next ch-sp) 4 times, ch 3, SC in joining between motifs.  Repeat from * to corner; repeat from ** around as established, join with Sl St to first SC.

Rnd 2: Ch 4, **(dc, ch 3, dc) in corner, ch 1, dc in next SC, *ch 1, dc in next sp, ch 1, dc in next SC.  Repeat from * to corner lp, ch 1, repeat from ** around as established, join with Sl St to 3rd ch of starting ch.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, tr in same ch as joining, **Sl St in corner lp (shell made), ch 3, Sl St in same ch as last S St (corner), ch 3, tr in same comer, sk next dc, Sl St in next dc, *ch 3, tr in same dc as last Sl St, sk next dc, Sl St in next dc.  Repeat from * to next corner, end with Sl St in 2nd dc from corner, ch 3, tr in same dc is last Sl St, repeat from ** around as established, join, fasten off. 

*
