Grandma's small doll dress Hot pad

   Convert this to Knit     

Material Needed: 1 -white plastic ring, 1 ½ " (38mm)

2oz. worsted weight yam (MC)

1 oz. worsted weight yarn (CC)

G hook

approx. 20" of ¼ " satin ribbon (any color)

Begin with CC and attach to plastic ring with sl st. ch 1. Work 25 sc over ring. Join with a sl st to beg sc. Fasten off. (25 sc)

Bodice: Round 1: With MC attach to front loop of any sc. Ch 3 (counting as first dc). Dc in front loop of next 12 sc, turn and dc in back loop of same 13 sc. Join with a sl st to top of beginning Ch 3. (26 dc). Change to CC yam.

Round 2: Ch 4. Dc in same st as joining. Sk next st, * V-stitch (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in next st. Sk next st. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in third ch of beg ch 4. (13 V-stitches). Change to MC yarn.

Round 3: Sl st into first ch 1 sp. Work beg shell (ch 3, l dc, ch 1,2 dc) in same ch 1 sp. * Shell (2 dc, Ch l, 2dc) in next ch 1 sp. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to top of beg ch 3. (13 shells)

Round 4: Repeat round 3. (13 shells) Change to CC yam.

Round 5: Sl st into first ch 1 sp. Work beg shell (ch 3, l dc, ch l, 2 dc) in same ch 1 sp. Shell (2 dc,Ch l, 2 dc) in each of next two ch 1 spaces. Work 2 shells in next ch 1 sp. Work 1 shell in the rest of the ch 1 spaces around. Join with a sl st to top of beg ch 3. (14 shells) Fasten off.

Skirt: Starting with MC, attach yarn between 3^rd and 4^th shell from where fastened off on bodice.

Round 1: Ch 3 (beg dc). (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp of next shell. 1 dc between the two shells that are together. (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp of next shell. Sk next 5 shells. 1 dc between 10^th and 11^th shells. (2 dc, ch l, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp of next shell. 1 dc between shells. (2 dc, ch l, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp of next shell. 1 dc between shells. Sk next 5 shells and join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Round 2: Sl st into first ch 1 sp. (ch 3, l dc, ch l, 2 dc) in same ch 1 sp. Dc in each sp between dc's and shells. * Shell in next ch 1 sp. Dc in each space between dc's and shells. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Round 3-9: Repeat round 2. At end of round 9, change to CC yarn.

Round 10: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining and each st and ch 1 sp around. Join with a sl st to beg Ch l.

Round 11: * ch 3, sk next st, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first ch of beg Ch 3. Fasten off.

Weave in loose ends. Add ribbon around waist for added decoration.
