Drawstring Booties  

Materials Required: 3--100 yd. Fingering weight (baby yarn) Balls Blue or any Color desired.

1 yd. 1/3 inch Ribbon.

1 Steel Crochet Hook No. 6 or No. 7.

The entire slipper is worked with 2 strands of yarn.

SOLES. With White, ch 24, work 2 s d c in 2nd st from hook (s d c: thread over needle, insert in st, pull through, thread over and work off all loops at one time), 2 s d c in next st of ch, 1 s d c in each of the next 19 sts of ch, 2 s d c in next st of ch, 3 s d c in last st of ch. Working on opposite side of ch, work 2 s d c in next st, 1 s d c in each of the next 19 sts, 2 s d c in next it, 1 s d c in same space with 1st 2 sts, join.

2^nd Row. Ch 2, (counts as 1 s d c) s d c in same space, 2s d c in each of the next 2 s d c, 1 s d c in each of the next 4 sts, 1 s c in each of the next 15 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 2 sts, 2 s d c in each of the next 5 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 2 sts, 1 s c in each of the next 15 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 4 sts, 2 s d c in each remaining st, join.

3^rd Row. Ch 3 (counts as 1 d c), d c in same space, 2 d c in each of the next 4 sts, 1 d c in next st, 1 s d c in each of the next 9 sts, 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts, · 2 s c in next st, 1 s c in next st, repeat from *, * 1 s c in next st, 2 s c in next st, repeat from * , 1 s c in each of the next 13 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 9 sts, 1 d c in next st, 2 d c in each
remaining st, join.

4^th Row. Ch 3, d c in same space, 2 d c in each of the next 6 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 29 sts, 2 s d c in each of the next 6 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 29 sts, 2 d c in each remaining st, join.

5^th Row. Ch 2, 1 s d c in each st, join.

6^th Row. Ch 1, 1 s c in each st, join, break thread.

(The next 10 rounds are worked in s d c and in the back loop of st only.)
7^th , 8^th, 9^th and 10^th Rounds. 1 S d c in each st. (Do not join or turn rounds.)

11^th Round. Fold slipper lengthwise and working over 20 sts for toe, * skip 1 st, s d c in next st, repeat from * 9 times, work remainder of round even.

12^th Round. Over toe, * ch 1, skip 1 s d c, s d c in next s d c, repeat from * 4 times, work remainder of round even.

13^th Round. Over toe, * ch 1, skip the ch 1, 1 s d c in next s d c, repeat from * 4 times, work remainder of Row even.

14^th Round. Over toe, skip the ch 1, 1 s d c in each s d c, continue working round even to within the 8th st from center of toe.

15^th Round. Ch 10, skip 15 toe sts, slip st in next st, ch 2 and continue all around ending Row with 1 s d c in each st of ch, join, ch 2.

16^th Round. 1 s d c in each s d c, join.

17^th Round. Beading, ch 3, skip 1 s d c, 1 s d c in next s d c, * ch 1, skip 1 s d c, 1 s d c in next s d c, repeat from* all around, join.

18^th Round. 1 s d c in each s d c and over each ch 1, join.

19^th Round. Shell, * ch 3, 2 d c in same space, skip 3 s d c, s c in next s d c, repeat from * all around, join, break thread. Lace Ribbon through beading and tie in bow.
