Sugar 'n Cream yarn
2 balls in color of choice (or any other cotton yarn)
Row 1: Ch 37; sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across. Ch 3; turn.
Row 2: Skip first sc, (dc in next st, dc in skipped st) across; dc in last st. Ch 1; turn.
Row 3-5: Sc in each st across. At the end of Row 5 ch 3; turn.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
Row 7-54: Sc in each st across. Or to desired length, if more than 54 rows additional yarn will be needed.
Row 55: Repeat Row 2.
Row 56-58: Repeat rows 3-5.
Row 59: Repeat Row 2.
Row 60: Sc in each st across. Fasten off.
Row 1: Working in Back loop this Row only. Skip first 5 sc, sl st to join in 6th sc. Sc in next 25 st across leaving last 5 un-worked. Ch 1; turn. The un-worked loops will be on the outside of purse.
Row 2: Sc dec over first two stitches; sc in each st across with sc dec in last two stitches. Ch 1; turn.
Row 3-10: Repeat Row 2.
Row 11: Sc dec over first 2 st, sc in next st; ch 10 (for button loop), skip next st, sc in next, sc dec over last 2 st. Finish off.
With right sides facing, sew purse sides together. Weave in ends and turn purse right side out.
Sew button of choice to front of purse in line with button loop.
Ch to desired length. Sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across, turn and work sc in each ch in un-worked loops of chain. Finish off.
Sew strap to each side of purse at seam, weaving in all ends.
