Easy Shell Afghan

Convert this pattern to knit   Stitches Used: Chain=ch, single crochet=sc, double crochet=dc,  treble crochet=tr,  slip stitch=sl  st, space=sp

   Materials: Worsted-weight yarn----3 colors of your choice, tapestry needle, J crochet hook

   Skill Level: *Easy

   Special Note: This afghan was made with 8 panels; however you may make as many as desired.

 INSTRUCTIONS    PANEL (make 8)

     Row 1: With color for center, ch 7, sl st in first ch to form a ring, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in ring, turn.

     Row 2: Ch 3, skip next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch sp, skip next 2 dc, dc in top of ch-3, turn.

     Rows 3-60: Ch 3, skip next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch sp, skip next 3 dc, dc in top of ch-3, turn.  Fasten off at end of last Row.

     Row 61: Working around outer edge of panel, join second color with sl st in last ch-3 sp made, ch 5, 2 tr in same sp, ch 1 (3 tr, ch 1) 4 times in same sp, *(3 dc in end of next Row, ch 1 ) 59 times*; (3tr, ch1) 5 times in ring; repeat between ** one more time, join with sl st in 4th ch of ch-5, fasten off.

      Row 62: Join third color with sl st in first ch sp, ch 4, 3 tr same sp, ch 1, (4 tr in next ch sp, ch 1 ) 3 times, *(3 dc in next ch sp, ch 1) 60 times*; (4 tr in next ch sp, ch 1) 4 times; repeat between ** one more time, join with sl st in top of ch-4, fasten off.

     Row 63: Join second color with sl st in first ch sp, ch 4, 5 tr in same sp, ch 1, *7 tr in next ch sp, ch1, 6 tr in next ch sp, ch 1, (3 dc in next ch sp, ch 1) 61 times*; 5 tr in next ch sp, ch 1; repeat between ** one more time, join, fasten off.

   ASSEMBLY
     With right sides together, sc or sew strips together lengthwise, leaving curved edges un-sewn.
