Cradle purse

   This is a child's purse that turns into a cradle with a little doll in it......my granddaughters like theirs real well......hope someone can use it..........

Crochet hook size G one yarn needle one 4" doll 4-ply yarn 2 colors (pink/white)

CRADLE: Starting at base of cradle, with white, ch 20 .

Rnd 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each of next 15 ch make 5 dc in last ch, working along opposite side of starting ch, dc in next 16 ch, 4 dc in last ch ...42 dc Join with sl st to top of ch 3.

Rnds 2-6: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. Join to top of ch-3

Rnd 7: Ch 2, hdc in next 10 dc: mark last hdc with a thread, hdc in each dc to last 9 dc, mark last hdc with a thread, hdc in last 9 dc. Join to top of ch 2. Ch 3, turn.

Rnd 8: Working in back lps only, make 1 dc in joining, make 2 dc in each st around...84 dc.

Join with sl st to top of ch 3.

Rnd 9: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. Join to top of ch-3.

Rnd 10: Ch 4, make 3 tr in joining, * skip next 3 dc, 4 tr in next dc. Repeat from * around, end last repeat with skip last 3 dc, join with sl st in top of ch-4.

Fasten off white.

Rnd 11: Join pink in sp between 4-tr group, ch 4, make 3 tr on same sp; * skip 4 tr, make 4 tr in next sp. Rep from * around, end last rep with skip 4 tr, join as before.

Fasten off pink. Fold last 4 rnds down to form cradle.

CRADLE HOOD: Join pink to marked st on Rnd 7.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in joining, sc in each st to next marked st on Rnd 7 ----21 sc. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2: hdc in next sc, dc in each sp to last 2 sc, hdc in last 2 sc, ch 2, turn.

Row 3: Hdc in next st, dc in each st to last st and turning ch; hdc in last st and in top of ch-2. Ch 2, turn.

Row 4: Skip next hdc, hdc in next dc, (skip next dc, dc in next dc) 5 times, skip next dc, hdc in next dc, skip next hdc, hdc in top of ch-2. Ch 1, turn.

EDGING: Working from left to right make a reverse sc along edge of hood and in all free loops of Rnd 7 around top edge of cradle Fasten off pink.

DRAWSTRING: (make 2) --With pink, make a ch 34" long. Fasten off.

Starting at one end of cradle, weave chain over and under sts on Rnd 10.

Tie ends of chain together. Weave second chain over and under alternate sts on Rnd 10 and tie ends of chain together at opposite end of cradle.

TASSEL: (Make 2) Wind pink 30 times around a 2 ½ " cardboard. With separate strand of yarn, tie strands at one end. Cut loops at opposite end.

Wrap a separate strand of pink around tassel ¾ " from tied end; tie securely. Tie a tassel to joining of each drawstring.

BUNTING: With pink, ch 16.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn.

Rows 2-8: Dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch-3 ....14 dc, counting ch-3 as 1st dc. Ch 3, turn. At end of last Row, do not ch 3. Fasten off.

Fold side edges of bunting together, leaving 2 rows free at one end; sew remaining 6 rows together.

Fold lower edge flat having seam just made at center; sew lower edge closed. Insert doll in Bunting, folding down 2 top rows.

HAT: With white, ch 9.

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each of the next 5 ch, make 4 dc in last ch; working along opposite side of starting ch, make dc in next 6 ch, hdc in next ch. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in next dc and in each dc around, hdc in top of ch-2. Ch 2, turn.

Row 3: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off white.

EDGING: With pink working from left to right make a Row of reverse sc around entire edge of hat.

TIE: With pink make a ch 14" long. Fasten off pink.

Weave chain through sts around next edge. Make a small tassel for each end of tie.
