Knit Baby Bib

Convert this pattern to crochet
This Bib can be made with the following:
The Famous "PURITAN" CROCHET COTTON, Article 40 or "DE LUXE" Quality
CROCHET COTTON, Article 346
1 ball each White and Blue. 1 pr. knitting needles No. 1. Steel crochet
hook No. 5.
GAUGE: 10 sts = 1 inch.
With White cast on 70 sts and work in stockinette st (K 1 Row, P 1 Row) for
7 ½ inches ending with a P Row.
Next Row. K across 24 sts and place on a holder, bind off next 22 sts, K across remaining 24 sts.
Work even on these 24 sts for 1 ½ inches, bind off.
Slip the 24 sts from holder and
work other side to correspond.
EDGE: With right side toward you attach Blue in left corner at top of bib, and work a row of sc around entire bib working 3 sc in each corner, join in 1st sc.
Next Row. * Ch 4, skip next 2 sts, sc in next st, repeat from * around entire bib ending with
sc in last st.
Next Row. * Ch 5, sc in next ch 4 loop, repeat from * around entire bib ending with sc in 3rd st of ch 5, cut thread.
FINISHING: Fold edging in toward center of bib, using Blue tack in position as illustrated.
TIES: Attach a double strand of Blue at neck edge and ch 50, cut thread.
Attach thread at opposite side and work another tie in same manner.
EMBROIDERY: Using a double strand of Blue, embroider as illustrated using Lazy Daisy stitch for petals and French Knots for centers.
