Two Sweater in One   Convert this to crochet

INTERMEDIATE
Knit a bulky pullover that's two styles in one!  Wear it casually as a pullover or add its cowl separate for a dressier look.  This versatile design duo is knit of Patons "Solo Chunky," a blend of 56% acrylic, 24% wool and 20% mohair.

Directions are given to fit bust sizes 32-34 with changes for sizes 36-38 and 40-42 given in parentheses.

You will need 12 (13,15) 50 gram balls "Solo Chunky" and numbers 8 and 10 standard knitting needles or size required to obtain given gauge.

Gauge: In pattern stitch: 15 sts equal 4 inches 19 rows equal 4 inches

Finished Bust Measurement: 41 ½, (45 ¾, 50 ¼) inches

Special Abbreviations:
Ml = Make one st by picking up horizontal strand lying before next st and work into back of it.

Pullover with Cowl Neck

BACK:
** With smaller needles, cast on 63 (71, 79) sts.

Work in ribbing as follows:
Row 1: (Right Side) K 1, *p 1, k 1, repeat from * across.

Row 2: P 1, *k 1, p 1, repeat from across.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until 2 ½ inches from beginning, end Row 1.

Next Row: Rib 4 (8, 5), Ml, [rib 4 (4, 5), Ml] 14 times, rib to end - 78 (86, 94) sts. **  Change to larger needles and pattern as follows:

Row 1: (Right Side) P 5, *k 2, yo, sl 1 as if to k, k 1, psso, p 4, repeat from to last St, p 1.

Row 2: K 5, *p 2, yo, p 2 tog, k 4, repeat from * to last St, k 1.

Rows 3 through 8: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 three times.

Row 9: P 11 *k 2, yo, sl 1 as if to k, k 1, psso, p 4, repeat from * to last 5 sts, k 2, yo, sl 1 as if to k, k 1, psso, p 1.

Row 10: K 1, *p 2, yo, p 2 tog, k 4,repeat from * to last 5 sts, p 2, yo, p 2 tog, k 1.

Rows 11 through 16: Repeat Rows 9 and10 three times.

Repeat Rows 1 through 16 for pattern until approximately 12 inches from beginning,  end pattern Row 16.

Shape Armholes:
Keeping continuity of pattern, bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 70 (78, 86) sts.
Work even until 11 ¾ (12, 12 ½) inches above bind off, end wrong side Row.

Divide for Neck -
Next Row: Work across 20 (23, 26) sts, k 2 tog, turn and place remaining sts on holder.  Dec one St at neck edge every Row until 18 (21, 24) sts remain.

Shape Shoulder: Bind off 6 (7, 8) sts at beginning of next 3 right side rows.
With right side facing, leave center 26 (28, 30) sts on holder. Join yarn to remaining sts, k 2 tog, work to end.
Complete to correspond to first side, reversing shaping.

FRONT: Work same as back from to **.  Change to larger needles and pattern same as back, beginning Row 9, until approximately 12 inches from beginning, end pattern Row 8.

Shape Armholes: Keeping continuity of pattern, bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 70 (78, 86) sts.  Work even until 9 ½ (10, 10) inches above bind off, end wrong side Row.

Divide for Neck: Next Row: Work across 22 (25, 28) sts, k 2 tog, turn and place remaining sts on holder.
Dec one st at neck edge every Row until 18 (21, 24) sts remain.
Work even until front measures same as back to beginning of shoulder shaping, end wrong side Row.

Shape Shoulder: Bind off 6 (7, 8) sts at beginning of next 3 right side rows,
With right side facing, leave center 22 (24, 26) sts on holder.  Join yarn to remaining sts, k 2 tog, work to end.  Complete to correspond to first side, reversing shaping.

SLEEVES: With smaller needles, cast on 29 (29, 31) sts.

Work in ribbing same as back for 2 ½ inches, Inc 9 (9, 7) sts evenly on last Row, end Row 2 - 38 sts.

  Change to larger needles and pattern  same as back, beginning Row 9 (1, 1) shaping sides by Inc one st each end of 5th Row, then every 4th Row until there are 60 sts.

Now Inc one st each end every right side Row until there are 80 (76, 72) sts, working added sts into pattern.

Work 1 Row.

Inc one st each end of every Row until there are 96 (100, 104) sts. 

Mark each end of last Row.
Work 6 more rows even.  Bind off loosely.

Finishing - Neckband: Sew right shoulder seam.

With right side facing and smaller needles, pick up 14 (14, 16) sts along left front neck edge, k across 22 (24, 26) sts of front, Dec one st at center, pick up 14 (14, 16) sts along right front neck edge, 6 sts along right back neck edge, k across back, pick up 6 sts along left back neck edge - 87 (91, 99) sts. 

Work in ribbing same as back, beginning Row 2, for 2 ½ inches.

Bind off loosely in ribbing using larger needle.

Sew remaining shoulder and neckband seam.

Fold neckband in half to wrong side and loosely sl st in place.

Place center of sleeve top at shoulder seam and sew in place sewing rows above markers to bind off sts of front and back.

Sew side and sleeve seams.

Cowl: With larger needles, loosely cast on 101 (105, 113) sts. 

Work in ribbing same as back for 4 inches, end Row 2.

Change to smaller needles and continue until 8 inches from beginning, end Row 2.

Bind off loosely in ribbing using larger needle.

Sew seam, reversing for turn back Note that bind off edge goes inside neckband.
